Overview

Immerse yourself in an unforgettable adventure with this tour that combines hiking along the coast, abseiling, an impressive circuit through the interior of a cave swimming through its natural aquifers and climbing.

Cooling off from the summer sun is a great way to enjoy the island of Mallorca and there is no better way to do it than on our sea cave adventure. Indeed, Mallorca is also well-known for its spectacular natural caves.

The Cova de Coloms is one of the only swimmable sea caves in Mallorca, located on the coast of Cala Romantica. It is located on a secluded beach 40 minutes' walk along the coastal path. The walk has incredible panoramic views of the east coast of Mallorca.

After a short 200 metre swim to the entrance of the cave, we will go underground, where your experienced guide will lead you through this labyrinthine structure and underground lakes to the heart of this speleological adventure.

Stalagmites in sea caves are different from those in dry caves, as the movement of water affects both the formation and the mineral content of the formations. These changes leave a range of incredible red colours that sparkle like diamonds on the walls of this underground labyrinth.

This activity can easily be combined with Coasteering to make it a package of pure action and high adrenaline activity.

Relevant details

  • The activity starts at approximately 10:00 AM. A free pick-up service is available from locations near your hotel, approximately 45 minutes before the start time. The exact time and meeting point will be confirmed after booking. Alternatively, you may go directly to the meeting point at Polígono Son Noguera, Llucmajor.
  • The experience includes a 40-minute coastal hike to reach a small bay where you’ll be equipped with a wetsuit and safety gear. From there, a short 300-meter swim leads to the sea cave entrance. A brief duck under water is needed to enter the cave, but no diving experience is required, making this an ideal activity for beginners and adventurous families.
  • No previous caving experience is necessary, but you must be able to swim and have a basic level of fitness. It is not suitable for individuals with significant health conditions (such as arrhythmias, epilepsy, or vertigo), nor for pregnant women. Led by our experienced guides, you’ll explore a breathtaking cave filled with impressive rock formations and underground lakes, illuminated by headlamps.
  • Participants must follow the guides’ instructions at all times to ensure group safety. The location or route may change due to weather conditions or safety reasons. For a worry-free experience, we recommend not bringing valuables, as their safety cannot be guaranteed during the activity.
