Drach caves: half day of natural wonders

Discover an underground world of magic and mystery in the impressive Caves of Drach, a unique experience in Mallorca!

The Drach Caves are the best known caves in Mallorca and were mentioned in the novel Clovis Dardentor by Jules Verne. Their impressive spectacle of light and colour, together with stalagmites, stalactites and natural aquifers, make the visit an unforgettable experience.

Located in Porto Cristo, these four caves were formed between 11 and 5.3 million years ago. Their subterranean landscape, shaped by the filtration of rainwater through limestone rocks, looks like something out of a science fiction film.

The first written references date back to the 14th century, and in 1784 Cardinal Despuig included them in his map of Mallorca. In the 19th century, an enormous underground lake 170 metres long was discovered. Since 1935, a magical classical music concert has been held in this lake.

The tour also includes a visit to the historic pearl factory, a pioneer in Europe, with a multimedia area, boutique and lounge bar.

• Estimated duration: Approximately 6 hours from the main meeting point or your pick-up location.
• Accessibility: Suitable for all ages. The caves route is about 1200 m with approximately 250 steps. Handrails are available, but the caves are not wheelchair accessible. Other facilities, such as the bar and shop, are wheelchair accessible.
• Important: Classical music concert takes place on the underground lake. Schedules may change due to operational reasons or weather conditions.

— South Zone (Palma, Calvià, Can Pastilla, Arenal):

• The tour starts at Camino Escollera. The morning experience officially begins at 9:30 AM and ends around 2:30 PM. The afternoon experience starts at 2:30 PM and ends around 7:30 PM. Please arrive at this meeting point 10 minutes early.
• Pick-up: Free service in selected hotels in the south zone.
• Route and visits: Bus transfer to the Drach Caves, guided cave tour including a 10-minute classical music concert on the underground lake.
• Complete experience: Bus transfer and guided cave visit with music recital.

— North Zone (Pollença, Alcudia, Playa de Muro, Can Picafort):

• Pick-up: Free service in hotels within these towns.
• Route and visits: Bus transfer to the Drach Caves, guided tour with classical music recital inside the caves.
• Complete experience: Bus transfer and guided cave visit with music recital.

— East Zone (Cala Rajada, Cala Mesquida, Cala Bona, Cala Millor, Sa Coma, S’Illot, Porto Colom, Cala d’Or, Porto Petro, Cala Murada, Colonia de Sant Jordi):

• Pick-up: Free service in hotels in these towns.
• Route and visits: Panoramic bus ride to the Drach Caves, guided tour with classical music recital on the underground lake.
• Complete experience: Bus transfer and guided cave visit with music recital.
