Génova Caves

Discovered accidentally during the construction of a well in 1906, they form a set of underground galleries of calcareous origin that are linked by naturally formed passageways. They are located in the middle of the residential district of Génova, in the municipality of Palma de Mallorca (Balearic Islands). The caves are almost a kilometre long and you can descend to a depth of 36 metres.

They are of enormous natural beauty, especially due to the different mineral colours of their speleothems and their high concentration of eccentric formations. They are particularly notable for the multitude of specimens of the extremely rare and hard-to-find coraloid speleothems (also known as popcorn or cauliflowers). They also have an enormous natural irrigation of constant fresh water all year round, which favours a very humid environment.

• The visit to the Génova Caves is available every day of the week, from Monday to Sunday, between 9:30 am and 5:30 pm. There is no transportation service included, so visitors must arrive on their own.
• The site offers free private parking, making it easy to arrive by car. Public transport is available just 50 metres away, ideal for those coming from Palma or nearby areas. The caves are located just 5 minutes from Palma city centre, making it a quick and convenient excursion.
• Before or after your visit, you can relax on the garden terrace, perfect for enjoying a drink and the tranquil surroundings.
